Reiki-Sound Sessions

In a Reiki session, I'm facilitating the process to invite the healing Reiki energy in, but the Reiki has its own intelligence. It seems to tend to whatever is present and most relevant to the recipient in that moment in their life.

Sometimes it works clearly and strongly. Other times, it works more softly and subtly. It's as if the Reiki is a sentient energetic medicine that flows wherever it is needed. Perhaps assisting movement where flow is wanted. Perhaps attending to seen or unseen hurt.

The experience can be different for each recipient each time. You may experience it energetically, visually, somatically, emotionally, or in other ways. As a facilitator, I follow intuition, sensing where the Reiki energy wants to go and sensing what places within you might be calling for the Reiki. It is not about forcing or controlling. It's about creating and supporting the space for the Reiki to flow where it needs to.

I've also been adding sound to the process, playing instruments (singing bowls, rattle, drum, gong) and singing improvisationally (sounds but not words) while facilitating the Reiki. In my experience, this seems to augment and amplify the Reiki while also helping us access a different, more dreamlike state, through which we can be more able to hear, feel, and receive whatever the Reiki--and parts of one's Self--wishes to be shown and known.

This practice has been so powerful and heart-healing (and fun!) for myself that I want to spread the offering more with others. I am repeatedly taken aback by how much it has helped me in deep ways over the last few years. It's become something that naturally ripples out into multiple facets of my life. It's impacted my dreams, my trauma-healing, my work, my art, my relationship with earth and other beings, and my sense of magick, mystery, and the sacred.

Note: Reiki can be done with or without the use of touch. In these sessions, I will be using the hands-free approach, so no touch will be involved.

I did all 3 levels of C.O.H.R. Reiki training, under the Usui and Johrei traditions, from Reiki Master Teacher Vness E. Santos (@ancientpocket) and I cannot recommend their teachings enough!
